Cancer Center Florida Shands

The University of Florida Cancer Hospital is an Academic Cancer Center that is currently under construction. The 200 bedroom complex will focus on producing basic laboratory findings that will ultimately be used for preventive therapies for cancers.

Background

This complex is eight stories high, and contains over 500,000 square feet of space. The facility will house about 200 private inpatient beds for a variety of patients, including those receiving diagnostic and therapeutic oncology services. It will also include a Critical Care Center for emergency and trauma related services. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2009 and is projected to cost $388 million.
