Felix the Cat: The Movie is an animated film based on the eponymous cartoon and comic strip character. It was made in 1988, but was not released in the United States until 1991.
The film opens with an introduction by Felix, who is rendered in CGI. The model also appears throughout the film's ending credits. The rest of the film, however, is rendered in hand-drawn animation. The animation was produced in Hungary.
The film was a staple of Disney Channel's programming roster during the 1990s, and was released in VHS format by Buena Vista Home Video on April 12, 1994. As of 2009, it has only appeared on DVD format in Great Britain, Bulgaria and Serbia.
Felix the Cat is summoned to the aid of Princess Oriana whose evil uncle, the Duke of Zill, has just taken over the kingdom using his army of robots. Finding an ancient dimensional transporter hidden in the abandoned Anairo Gold Mine, Felix and his magical bag of tricks are transported to the fantastic and strange Kingdom of Oriana. With the help of his old friends, the Professor and Poindexter, as well as some new ones, Felix must save the princess and stop the Duke.
The film features the theme song from the "Felix The Cat" TV series, on which the film is based. The score was composed by Christopher L. Stone, with songs by Bernd Schonhoffen, Don Oriolo and Christian Schneider.

This is another one of those childhood movies that was so trippy that I'm kind of shocked that it actually exists and wasn't just a particularly hyper-active dream.
